Bill Zimmerman Joins Diamonds North Board

Vancouver, May 19th, 2005 -- Diamonds North Resources Ltd. (DDN -- TSX Venture)
announces that Mr. Bill Zimmerman was elected to the Board of Directors of Diamonds North Resources Ltd. at the company's Annual General Meeting held May 12, 2005. As the former President of BHP Diamonds Inc., Mr. Zimmerman was responsible for developing new diamond opportunities and the sorting, valuation and sales of diamond produced from the Ekati Diamond Mine. Mr. Zimmerman became involved in the Ekati Diamond Project in 1994 and led the team that developed and implemented the successful strategy for selling diamonds from Canada's first diamond mine to world markets.

As an independent director, Mr. Zimmerman brings to Diamonds North over 30 years of business experience in natural resources, specializing in the development and implementation of successful marketing strategies of commodities including diamonds. He holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of San Francisco and a B.Sc. in Mineral Economics from The Pennsylvania State University.

Prior to his Ekati experience, Mr. Zimmerman implemented international marketing and development programs for several of BHP's projects in the iron ore, coal and salt industries. He retired from BHP Billiton Diamonds Inc. on May 31, 2001, after more than 30 years of service to BHP and predecessor companies.

The Board of Directors announces the grant of incentive stock options under the Company's stock option plan to director and employees to purchase an aggregate of 550,000 treasury shares. The options are exercisable for a period of five years at a price of $0.85 per share and are subject to the policies of the TSX Venture Exchange.
